POC took design elements from two of its most popular helmets to form the Tectal Mountain Bike Helmet, creating a hybrid with the best features from each. Extensive coverage along the temples and rear of the helmet increases protection to vulnerable areas, while the helmet’s unibody design lessens the amount of potential stress points along seams.

The Tectal’s ventilation system takes what POC has learned from their Octal road helmet, which is wind tunnel-optimized for maximum efficiency and engineered it into a mountain-worthy design. The helmet’s protection gets a boost with the aramid-reinforced EPS liner and unibody polycarbonate shell that provides more temple and back-of-the-head coverage than traditional MTB helmets while keeping weight low.

Always on the cutting edge, an integrated passive RECCO® reflector interacts with radar detection systems used by first responders to help locate riders quickly in case of an emergency, and it requires no maintenance or activation by the user.

POC considers comfort almost as much as it does safety, carving out out a range of vents along the Tectal to ensure air stays moving throughout the helmet. Before you head out, a simple one-handed turn of the dial at the back of the helmet allows you to adjust for the perfect fit.
